Thank you for your interest in the University of Florida Health COVID-19 Testing Program in The Villages.
We have nearly doubled our initial goal of testing 2,000 people in the community. To date, we have now offered testing to 3,955 people — 1,855 people with symptoms and 2,100 people without symptoms.
We appreciate the continued high level of interest in our screening program. The availability of test kits is subject to pressures on the state and national supply chain. We are pleased to continue to offer testing when these supplies are available, and the schedule and test types offered will fluctuate accordingly.
As this time, scheduling for COVID-19 screening tests at The Villages Polo field is not currently available.
Individuals who are experiencing concerning symptoms such as shortness of breath or high fever should seek medical attention immediately with their primary care physician, urgent care center or local emergency room.
As resources become available, future openings at the test center will be announced 24-36 hours in advance in The Villages Daily Sun Newspaper ( Twitter, Facebook, Website) and via The Villages Daily Sun App (ANDROID, IOS).
In the meantime, we urge you to continue practicing ways to reduce your exposure to the virus and for transmitting the virus to others:
- Stay home as much as possible.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Sneeze or cough into a tissue or the inside of your elbow.
- Practice physical/social distancing from others to limit the spread of germs.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
- Wear a mask in public.
Additional COVID-19 resources can be found at UF Health COVID-19 Resources
We look forward to returning to the field as soon as supplies become available.
